Service
Kaneland W.I.N.S. is excited to provide the
opportunity for women to come together and serve the communities in
which they live and/or work. We do this by adopting a service project
for each of our monthly meetings. Our attendees can donate much
needed supplies for the service project. We also hold a 50/50 drawing
each month – half of which goes to one lucky attendee and half of
which goes to a scholarship fund to be awarded each Spring to a female
Kaneland High School Senior who will be attending Waubonsee Community
College the following fall. This combines our service mission
with our mission to provide personal and professional development to
women of the Kaneland area.
Over the course of the years
through our members’ and guests’ generosity, we've donated more than
$1,000 to charities including:
- The Crisis
Pregnancy Center
- The Center for
Rural Psychology
- Holiday Spirit
(though Kaneland School District)
- Habitat for
Humanity
- Special Olympics
- The American Red
Cross (to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina)
- Breast cancer
research
- The Good
Samaritan Fund (programs helping people struggling to make ends
meet)
- Elderday
- The Girl Scouts
- Impact Program
(assisting the elderly with home repairs they cannot make
themselves)

- A carload of
baby equipment and supplies to the Crisis Pregnancy Center
- Boxes of pet
food and supplies for Anderson Animal Shelter
